Chris McGraw serves as Vice Chancellor for Legal Affairs with the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. He has practiced law in state government for more than twenty years, including service at the Georgia Attorney General’s Office prior to the Board of Regents. Among his various practice areas at the Attorney General’s Office was representation of the state retirement systems including TRS. In addition to his state government service, he has also worked in private practice and as a law clerk to a federal judge.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Vanderbilt University and his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law. He is also a graduate of the University System of Georgia’s Executive Leadership Institute and is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the National Association of College and University Attorneys. He and his wife, a school social worker, live in metro Atlanta and have two sons who are now in college.
