(Buster) EvansThe Teachers Retirement System (TRS) of Georgia has announced the retirement of Executive Director Dr. L. C. (Buster) Evans, effective November 1, 2025. Dr. Evans, who has served in the role since September 2016, will be succeeded by Deputy Executive Director Dr. Jason Branch, who will assume the role of Executive Director on the same date. Beginning July 1, 2025, Jason will become our Chief Operating Officer/Deputy Executive Director. Dr. Branch is no stranger to the education community in Georgia as he has been a highly successful educational leader for many years. Most recently Jason has served for the past 13 years as superintendent of the highly successful Oconee County School System.
